Composer & guitarist, Matthieu Morand begins to play guitar at 13 and learned from many guitar teachers in his home town. In 1992, he creates NIGHT FEAST, a French rock band, with friends from school then in 1993, he creates ELVARON (4 albums) with bass player Julien Skorka and drummer Rodolphe Gagnepain. In 1995, Matthieu is allowed to follow the professional program of the CMCN (currently Music Academy International). Graduate in 1996, he enters, this same year, in the Conservatoire National de Region of Nancy to learn classical guitar and follows the lessons of Dominique Eder during five years. Being also a singer, he follows the lessons of Elena Vassilieva then of Aniella Zins during two years.
Since 1998, he is drummer of MOXID which recorded a first demo tape "Behind the myth" and a first album "After The War" in 2004. From September 2000 to May 2001 he's the guitarist of the French band L'ULTIMA (one demo). In 2003 he creates AKROMA with Alain Germonville [Darwin's Theory, Ex-Scarve], Symphonic Black Metal project gathering many musicians from the French metal scene and released 2 worldwide acclaimed albums. Since 2005, he works with his friends Julien Skorka [Bowels of suffering, Bodyscape, Elvaron] and Ludovic Lehoulle [Hateful, Bodyscape, L'Ultima] with the band LOUKA and released 2 albums. Since 2008 he works with vocalist Kevin Kazek (Seyminhol), Nicolas Pélissier (Seyminhol) and Thomas Das Neves (Heavenly) in the band SYMAKYA that just released a first symphonic metal album "Majestic 12: Open Files" already recognized as one of the best 2011 album. Matthieu is currently working on new albums with AKROMA, LOUKA, SEYMINHOL, ELVARON and a new hardcore band called LA HORDE.

In addition to his musicology's Master's Degree, Matthieu is holder of a Design Management Master. His university searches led him to work on the sound design influence in the human behavior and on musical solutions for brands. His researches also went on the influence of the traditional composing in metal. Indeed, because of the duality of his formation to the classical music and to the modern music, this combination of writing styles was done naturally in Elvaron. Aware of the negative image of metal in France, Matthieu tries to talk a maximum on this subject. His musicological formation gives some credibility to his words. He talked on this subject during the European universities of the practices and musical knowledge.
